Dual Language

Two languages. One community. Unlimited opportunity

Lewis & Clark Elementary's 50/50 Dual Language program immerses students in both English and Spanish — equally — building bilingual proficiency, cultural awareness, and the skills to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Learning in two languages is one of the greatest gifts a child can receive. Lewis & Clark Elementary's 50/50 Dual Language program gives students equal time learning in English and Spanish, building bilingual skills that will serve them in the classroom, in their community, and throughout their lives. We welcome all families — English speaking, Spanish speaking, and everything in between.

Bilingual Proficiency

The 50/50 model means students spend equal time learning in English and Spanish every single day — building genuine proficiency in both languages, not just basic conversational skills. The benefits are fully realized when students stay in the program for at least six years.

Academic Excellence

Research consistently shows that Dual Language students perform at equal or superior academic levels compared to peers in traditional programs — proving that learning in two languages doesn't slow students down. It accelerates them.

Cultural Understanding

Our Two-Way model serves both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking students side by side — building cross-cultural friendships, positive attitudes toward diversity, and a greater sense of ease among people from all backgrounds.

Recognized by OSPI

Our school has been highlighted by the Office of State Public Instruction (OSPI) as a leader in the delivery of dual-language instruction in the state of Washington. We are the only dual-language school in North Central Washington.
